Review on Superwinch 1331200 UT3000 Roller Fairlead by Devin Maselli

I bought this to use my homemade log arch that I carry behind my quad to transport log length wood to my processing area. The purpose of the winch is to pull the logs up to the arch and lift the logs off the ground for transport. I quickly learned that you have to be VERY straight forward about what you want your winch or cable to spool. When this happens, getting the cord out is the BIGGEST headache! It was twice, live and learn. Unfortunately, with very little use, the bolts/nuts that attach the joystick connector to the actual control box loosen from vibration. So I had to remove the control box from the winch, disassembling the control box to find the missing nuts. I decided to use some blue Loctite when reassembling the joystick connector in the control box to prevent the problem from happening again. BAD MOVE! the loctite started to gnaw at the seemingly cheap plastic control box. I then had to use a combination of duct tape and tape to reassemble the control box. The manufacturer should have used lock nuts to avoid the problem! Adding maybe twenty cents to the cost of the locknuts would make this a much better product. Also a tighter tolerance or something to keep the cable from slipping off the spool would make this a great tool.
