I haven't checked the calibration but it meets my needs. Since we moved into our new home two years ago we have not been able to get consistent results when baking in our high quality German oven. I bought this unit because it came with a wired sensor that I could plug into the oven and monitor temperature changes. I set the oven to 425 and controlled the temp for over an hour. My oven fluctuated between 375 and 475, which was confirmed by an appliance mechanic using his own expensive monitor. So this unit worked quite well. This allowed me to get the company to replace my oven control board. Warning for those looking to use a wired sensor on their gas grill. These sensors are not waterproof and will fail when wet. Also make sure that the probe does not touch/lay on the metal grid of the grill. The grate gets much hotter than the air inside the grill and these sensors are not rated for such high temperatures.
