Affordable rain jacket that works

I've worn this jacket in the rain a few times including a downpour and never got wet. The phone pocket on the chest is a nice touch. The jacket is small for a large size so it can be worn over other clothing. The hood is particularly large and tends to fall over my forehead; and i have a big head. I usually wear a baseball cap to keep the hood out of my eyes. My only real complaint is that the material is stiff, although it does soften up a bit with use. Certainly not as soft as polyester or even a leather jacket. And although it's said to be more breathable than polyester or PVC, I still sweat a bit in the jacket when I'm very active. However, I sweat less than with jackets made of other materials. Considering the price compared to Gortex, this is a great job.

Pros
  • Double storm flap and zip down rain gutter
Cons
  • Something different
