. I'm giving this an overall rating of 4 for speed, ease of setup, 5G speed and range. who primarily pay attention to the grid system. Deducting a star, I almost considered deducting 2 stars for the following reasons: 1) It is not possible to configure an additional SSID. So I can't have an SSID only for my 2.4G devices like my old laptop. I set mine up to use my existing ID, which I've used previously for 5G devices. It looks like DUO manages both 5G and 2.4G networks with the same primary SSID. It also offers a guest network that can be used in this way. Unless I have a reason I need real guest networking. Since I can't find out the new SSID reserved for 2.4G, I'm having problems with my old Dell laptop that I'm still trying to solve. 2) I had to reset all smart life light settings. Sockets and my MY Q garage door opener, possibly because they were previously connected to my 2G network. Tip here: Try to use the same ID and password when setting up most of your smart home devices. Because they are rather troublesome to restart. The good news is that they really work. I've been arguing between TPlink Duo and Google Mesh and ended up getting stuck due to the reduced price, good luck with TP Link in the past and the SQfootage claim was significantly greater with TP Link. For all these reasons, I'm sure TPlink was a good choice. The Wi-Fi signal is great, it reaches all corners of my house and quite a distance in my yard. Apparently I only need 1 device since my house is only 1500mΒ². ft. Speed is consistently higher everywhere in 5G. However I only gave it 4 stars because I'm still having trouble getting the speeds on my old laptop which will only be 2.4. This could easily be an issue on my laptop side as I tried a direct connection and that didn't work either. I will update this review once I fix the issue. I only gave it 3 stars for tech support because the quick link guide is completely useless. and if you're looking for a specific channel identifier, it looks like people have been asking for this feature for over a year. and the R&D team did not see fit to create a firmware update for it. Some people have very good reasons to choose the channel, product owners seem to think that the TP-Link will choose the best channel. She returned a star because the app notifies me every time a new device is connected. It's really pretty cool. The mobile app is great and easy to set up with an intuitive interface. It's difficult to mentally transition from managing WiFi through the PC app to using the mobile app exclusively. but it seems to have everything I need. Except for my two problems mentioned above. All in all, TPlink Deco will most likely outperform anything you currently have and is a smart investment!
