I wouldn't call it a starter set, more like a set for making colorful candles. Why not for beginners? First, this kit doesn't come with instructions. Also, no candle materials such as soy or beeswax are included in this set. A beginner candle maker will need both instructions and materials for candles. A kit that accounts for every wick but ignores the basic requirements for making a candle is one I wouldn't recommend for beginners. This set contains colors that can be added to the candle material. There are also some silicone molds and a few wicks and coasters. There is a pitcher for pouring hot stuff, but as a starter kit it doesn't provide enough materials and information in my opinion.
