This item along with a Garmin Montana GPS could be the best investment I have made in a long time. Be sure to connect the power cords to the auxiliary power switch (on most bikes, one is usually behind the headlight and the other is under the seat). When I turn the key on my bike (DR650) the device turns on and when I turn the key off the device prompts me to turn off the device or drain the battery. The mount is very stable, I connected it to the ram mount. My only regret is that I didn't pull the trigger sooner. The instructions aren't very helpful, I was nervous about connecting directly to 12V, but after some research I saw that others have done the same. It works like a champ, and with some clean wiring it's set up and tuned!
