A Must Have - Great Accessory - Low Cost - Works Great!

I can't say enough good things about this remote switch. I just wish I had known it existed beforehand. I have already purchased a high amperage (300 amp) ignition relay and built a circuit to turn on and off the main battery positive lead connected to my inverter. This was due to my old 1000 watt inverter. I had a remote switch to toggle the position of the ignition relay contacts. Two negative issues with this configuration. The ignition relay itself, when on, draws more current from my batteries than I would like. I use a solar panel so any battery drain can be fixed. The second issue with my ignition relay configuration was assembly cost. Considering the cost of relay wire, battery wire and copper wire lugs, smaller diameter wire to connect to remote switch, remote switch and mounting hardware, low current ignition relay servo circuit fuse. with material costs in the $150 range. After installing this and making sure it worked, I removed my ignition relay setting. The Xantrex remote switch is a welcome addition to me. For less than $30 you get everything I originally built and no additional battery drain. Not a no-brainer when you just compare the cost of less than $30 to $150. Plus, it's "Plug and Play"! It's just an on/off switch with an indicator light. There is no way to view the counter. I wouldn't want to pay a higher price for a meter reading on this accessory as some suggest. Most people who run batteries already have some kind of meter. I installed this switch next to my remote battery gauge. I can read volts, amps and % battery capacity. Adding a display to this simple, economical switch will likely add value beyond what many would pay.
