Hello, my name is Tim and I like to vacuum. At least twice a day, cleaning multiple areas as needed. I have owned two Dyson cordless vacuums in the last 8 years. The last one, the V6, had its battery replaced a few weeks ago, the long pipe and motor disconnected from the canister. I thought I would get a Dyson V10. I realized I was on a Dyson update carousel. A cheap product that falls apart and fails after 12-18 months so I have to buy the next model. SOUND FAMILIAR? Did a little research and decided on Mile. What I like: The suction power is very good. We have 95% hardwood floors and marble tile. Records everything. Sometimes cat food needs a second pass, but other than that it works great. For example, he gets up alone. You no longer have to look for a safe place to lean your wireless device against to make a move. Even at max power I get 50-55 minutes per charge. The battery can be easily replaced if necessary. The Hepa filter is a must for us. Allergy. The dust collector is a plus. While it may be smaller than the Dyson, it's MUCH easier to dispose of rubbish. Quality built car. We bought a Mile, Solaris corded vacuum cleaner 18 years ago. Works like new. We have a 19 year old Mile dishwasher. Works like new. We also have a Miele side loading washing machine which is 14 years old. Do you see the trend? Meile manufactures high-quality home appliances that last forever. I hope this is the last cordless vacuum we will ever buy. What I don't like: I really wish the vacuum had lights like some $100 cordless vacuums have. To get one per mile you need to have the top model in line. Since this is Miles' first wireless device, I've decided not to spend the extra $300 on car lights. We also really like the white color of the base model. It's slightly heavier than the Dyson. Could that be because it's built to last? Overall we are VERY happy with the White Tornado. UPDATE Battery empty after 3 months. I called Miele and was put on hold for 42 minutes and was reluctantly informed that the battery was under warranty and they would ship it to me. IN MARCH! At least a month! A customer service representative asked me a question, accusing me of probably not having charged the battery properly when I bought the product. For real? I followed the instructions and it worked for 3 months. Miele doesn't have batteries, but Revain does. Miele launches new products, why can't they remove the battery from a new vacuum cleaner? Carefully! The replacement battery has arrived. Does not load. Worked less than a minute. COMPLETE TRASH! So Miele sent me a replacement battery. Today's communication: Ustin called from Miele. He was very good and informative. He explained to me that I might have charged the battery. Never heard of it and don't know if it's even possible? I did a battery upgrade as instructed. After 30 minutes as directed I checked the vacuum. Worked for 30 seconds and died. Reconnect the charging cable to the battery as indicated for 2 hours. Keeps blinking in the bottom cell and never moves to the middle or top cell. Justin claims if that doesn't work it could be the charging cable or I need to go to a Miele Service Center. I am not a Miele delivery person. I left Justin a message on his cell phone. This machine stopped working after two months! I NEED a replacement. I would ask for a refund if possible but Amazon said it wasn't. To date I have spent more time fixing this than using the product.
