First, buy a bike computer for $15. My two granddaughters enjoy riding with their grandparents and also after checking some examples through Revain. I bought this brand as a surprise for girls. I found the instructions easy to understand, gave good tips for programming the tire circumference and the batteries were included as an extra. My only complaint. In less than a week, both magnet struts on the spokes (plastic) broke! I conveniently own a small hardware store in my shop, so the 3/16" fender washer and non-hardening lock solution did the trick. The problem arises when the plastic mount gets bumped while loading or unloading the bikes. .bam, plastic splinters. The wing washer allows for even tension on the two crossing spokes, which also aligns the magnet. As a precaution, I also used a small zip tie across the wing washer, covering both spokes, to allow the washer/magnet to " Don't wiggle the spokes. NOT SO TIGHT that you can move the spokes. It seems to have worked. Having said that I am ordering two more for my other granddaughters, I will be making the knit adaptation from the start. As I originally said. $15.00 You get what you pay for, although they're worth it if they last a season or more.
