Review on Enhance Precision: Spyderco 400 Square Ceramic Sharpening Files, Ideal for Sharpening Intricate Tools by Thomas Drew

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I liked it a lot, bought another one

This is my second replacement set. I've used them to sharpen everything from paring knives and pocket knives to hobby knife replacement blades, pencil sharpener blades and so on. The small size and different shapes meet almost all my grinding needs. Although you don't need to use any kind of lubricant when working with ceramics, I've found that adding a bit of Ballistol or another oil helps get even nicer edges. After my first set had a tiny, tiny, tiny chip on a square piece, I used it fairly consistently for about 6 years. There's still a lot in my book. (After all, I still have three sides of the square ceramic.) It would be great if Spyderco developed a ceramic with a concave notch. I'm still addicted to a piece of wood (with clay added) or a slip-strop for her.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • For pensioners
