very nice set. Ceramic stones are very hard and almost polish the edge of the blade. This is the final step in sharpening, sort of the first polishing step after the rougher stones have leveled the edge. I usually use a sliding stone (tear stone) and make the final marks around the edges. Then I move on to ruby stones mirror polishing the edge and finally I put on the end of the slings. These are great for trigger jobs. Ultra-fine edges and various shapes make it easy to polish sharp surfaces. I would estimate the abrasiveness of these stones to be around 3000 units. It doesn't give you a high gloss finish, but it does smooth the surface enough for crisp, clean breaks. Good hard surfaces show no wear after working with about 5 triggers. If I were to replace the triangular shank in my Spyderco ceramic stone set I would give it 5 stars - because it's good. However, the exact description of the product is wrong. ! This is my second replacement set. I've used them to sharpen everything from paring knives and pocket knives to hobby knife replacement blades, pencil sharpener blades and so on. The small size and different shapes meet almost all my grinding needs.
