I bought the NWA110ax or AX1800 to replace my previous Netgear AP. Zyxel's offline hotspot embedded software has many features and customization options, and its cloud management is free for personal use and easy to use with the app. However, the range of this hotspot is pretty short due to the weak signal. I am using it at the same location as my previous Netgear AP and the Netgear AP had a much stronger signal with better range on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The Zyxel hotspot made my laptop almost unusable in a certain location, I had to buy an external USB Wi-Fi adapter with an external antenna so that I could use the network connection on it. I tried all available channels for both bands, there was no change in signal strength or range. And while this Zyxel AP allows users to set the output power limit to 30dBm, this option is basically USELESS because Zyxel actually automatically reduces it to around 20dBm for all bands, regardless of channel, presumably due to "local regulations" (I'm in the US) and you can't cancel it.
