Amazing performance and coverage

The performance and coverage of this AP is amazing. My house is a 2 story building and I had a Linksys WRT router on the 2nd floor. It generally worked well, except it still had the usual overheating problem in the summer when there was a cooler underneath. Thermal issues aside, the wireless signal was still weak in some corners and the backyard, leading me to look for a better access point for stability and performance. Surprisingly, the NWA1123-AC HD 3x3 antenna design actually provides…

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • No insurance

Stable and feature rich but limited range

I bought the NWA110ax or AX1800 to replace my previous Netgear AP. Zyxel's offline hotspot embedded software has many features and customization options, and its cloud management is free for personal use and easy to use with the app. However, the range of this hotspot is pretty short due to the weak signal. I am using it at the same location as my previous Netgear AP and the Netgear AP had a much stronger signal with better range on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. The Zyxel hotspot made my…

Real speeds, 866M Rx/Tx per device in 5G. I can't connect my WIFI 6 device but the mode is set to 11ax so I'm assuming it's a WIFI 6 hotspot? When I set the channel width to 20/40/80/160, the 5G band cuts completely and no connection is established. So maybe if WIFI 6 devices don't connect, it's not a "True WIFI 6" hotspot? js. In the configuration, "BETA" is next to the 160MHz support option. So if one of the main features of WIFI 6 is not fully supported, is it really a WIFI 6 hotspot? It…

This hotspot is working great for me

This hotspot is working great for me. I've been using the Apple Airport Express for several years and wanted to replace it with 802.11 AC coverage throughout my home. After doing some research, I settled on this production. For the latest 802.11ac Wave 2 access point, the price is reasonable, and I find the coverage and performance to be outstanding. Now I can enjoy a high-speed WiFi connection when mowing the lawn, working on the car in the driveway, or enjoying a sunny day on the patio, not…

Great range and speed

This access point has excellent range. My home is about 3500 square feet and I've tried different routers from ASUS to Netgear and even added a Netgear repeater. None of the solutions actually solved the coverage issue. I've been looking for the new 802.11ac Wave 2 technology hoping it will solve my problem. Several products have emerged, including routers and access points. However, I have decided not to try another router because changing the whole network configuration on the router again…

Will never buy again

I have a list of problems with this access point. I bought this device for home use as a cheaper alternative to Cisco and also used my home as Cisco corporate hardware. It didn't take me long to realize that this device was nowhere near fit for business use. When I first set up my hotspot, it had a problem connecting to cloud management. It could not use DNS server 4.2.2.2 or my local ISP's DNS 75.75.75.75. I had to use Google DNS 8.8.8.8. No, this wasn't a problem with my LAN as every other…
