Review on πŸ“‘ Zyxel True WiFi6 AX1800 Wireless Access Point (802.11ax Dual Band), 1.77 Gbps with Quad Core CPU and Dual 2x2 MU-MIMO Antenna, Easily Managed through Nebula APP/Cloud or as a Standalone Device [NWA110AX] by David Foster

NWA210AX works well, not the easiest to set up, WIFI6 is still mysterious

Real speeds, 866M Rx/Tx per device in 5G. I can't connect my WIFI 6 device but the mode is set to 11ax so I'm assuming it's a WIFI 6 hotspot? When I set the channel width to 20/40/80/160, the 5G band cuts completely and no connection is established. So maybe if WIFI 6 devices don't connect, it's not a "True WIFI 6" hotspot? js. In the configuration, "BETA" is next to the 160MHz support option. So if one of the main features of WIFI 6 is not fully supported, is it really a WIFI 6 hotspot? It also doesn't support DCS with a 160MHz channel, so channel selection is only possible manually. Using this as a consumer might be a mistake. It's a powerful device with lots of features, but very little guidance and not even much help in the UI as far as settings go. I had to search the web for acronyms every 2 minutes to determine if I needed tweaking or not. And some settings might look harmless, but they actually break range and disconnect a device. After several hours of fiddling, I was able to get it working as best I could. I found this, maybe just a coincidence and not a technical fact, but 5G works better when I disable 2.4G. Looking at the dashboard, Tx/Rx jumped on all 5G devices when I disabled 2.4G.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options
