This is an old model but my first impression is that it is better than the new model

. I also didn't realize that the SIM card was old and big. Luckily I had an adapter for a SIM card with me. Do not try to insert your micro or nano SIM card in this slot, otherwise you risk losing your SIM card and damaging the SIM card slot in a hot place, rendering it unusable. Actually I replaced a newer Unite model and accidentally got this one. I don't think it was a bad buy and keep it to myself. In a newer version of the Unite Access Point, the external antenna connector fell off mine. The old version could be better. It seems more settings, but the battery is smaller. Some settings I like are that you can force it to stay on LTE, the newer model switches back and forth to edge networking. I also noticed that it has an end-to-end VPN. With the newer model, I had trouble connecting to my work VPN. If you need an AT&T tower and an external antenna, Unite seems to be the best choice. I use it for my cabin in the woods by the river with a Yagi directional antenna. It works great off the beaten track and I'm getting 9-13Mbps. Those antenna connectors are weak so I don't unplug them from the antenna anymore. Instead, I bought a $25 Wi-Fi repeater and plugged it in outside and I've got massive range. Neighbors can pick him up behind the soccer field.

Pros
  • . New to my collection
Cons
  • . Could have chosen a newer model.
