This cheap knife sharpener looks solid and might even work well for the price, but I've never tried it because the plastic it's made of smells amazing like chemicals I suppose Formaldehyde (all still there). used as a plasticizer for cheap plastic in China). The smell didn't go away after a few days so I had to throw the item away (not worth returning). Also, the smell is sticky and after picking up the sharpener handle, my hands also smelled of those chemicals and I had to wash them thoroughly to get rid of the smell. Do not purchase this item as it poses a potential health hazard (at least the black version I purchased).
