KDF-55 Unfilled Cartridge
Pros: I find the water from this filter tastes better than the alkaline mineral option offered by Apex. The basic variant gives the water a chemical taste. Cons: The KDF-55's gold layer was not filled to the top of the cartridge, leaving a gap that allows air to be trapped between the pre-filter and the KDF-55. This leaves room for bacteria to grow while the filter is in place. I have had other APex filter cartridges and none have had this issue before. Bad quality control? IDK, but that makes me wary of ordering another one.
