I followed a review from another user who recommended rinsing the brush after use to avoid dirt buildup on the underside of the holder. After using the brush, I simply rinse it under the tap in a tub (hot water) and let it air dry before putting it back in its holder. This is a must - once I was too lazy and didn't rinse the brush before putting it back in and of course it smelled horrible afterwards so I had to get a new one. By rinsing it every time, I think you can greatly extend the life of the brush. The product itself is solid, a nice muted gray color, and the brush does the job quite well, although I wish it had longer bristles that stick out to make it easier to get just under the rim.
