Headset cover torn

I ordered this CD player and received it on time. So far the CD player has worked flawlessly. However, I was a bit disappointed when I opened the package to find that both black headphone covers were torn into small pieces. They were either too old or made of bad material. I don't have time to file a complaint or return it, so I just use the headset I have at home. The black material broke into small pieces and stuck to my ears. I'm afraid to use without covers. I can see all the wires and circuit boards inside.
