Firstly, this cover fits my 2005 Chrysler Town and Country. The binding hooked in easily and probably seals well, but I'm not entirely sure about the strength. I bought it because my check engine light was constantly on due to a small fuel leak (code 0456 for my car) and often because the gas cap wasn't closing properly. However, after installing this cap, the code continued to work from time to time. And I had a mechanic who would check the whole fuel system, seal it and everything and not find a leak anywhere. That was six months ago, just after I replaced the cap. The light hasn't come on in a month or two and has become less frequent over the past few months. Maybe the lid took some time to fit and it seals better. Maybe the problem isn't in a hat (and never was?). I'm not sure. But I have a new cap on the machine, it fits and works fine now. I feel like it's not as snug as it could be when I screw it on and it starts to click, but I'm not sure if that matters or if it should feel tighter. That is my experience. I posted it there because I hope it will be informative and helpful to someone.
