I barely see the light, but this option wasn't really important to me. I'm skeptical that the hygrometer is wrong, but I have nothing to disprove it, BUT I'm not saying it's a bad humidifier, I just noticed it. The mist performance is decent, I thought it would make a bigger difference, and humidifiers tend to list the area of a small room as their range, but the mist stays within a 1-foot radius of the machine. The reason I bought it was my plants, but since I only have one fog hole I only have to point it at part of the plants. It's very easy to fill and I recommended pouring hot water into it to boost the mist. It will automatically turn off and beep to let you know what's good. The remote control is also quite handy but I have to say I had very high expectations from it and in the end it surpassed all the features and ease of filling, not just the mist.
