Review on πŸ“· Crisp and Versatile: Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM Lens Revealed by Guo Tai Lim ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality product, the price is commensurate with the quality.

I've been shooting 28-300 since 2022. Until 2022, I had 2 of these lenses. To be honest, I have not seen anything better, although I have been working as a photographer for over 20 years. For "vanilla girls" or "professional photographers" who shoot weddings, it probably won't do. It provokes close-ups, although it makes it possible to shoot from a focal length of 28mm! I would advise these people "fifty dollars 1.4" for 10 thousand, or even 1.8 - for 3 thousand. And cheap, and the picture is in the "trend" . If speed, efficiency, mobility without loss of picture quality are important to you, - 28-300 is for you! Well, unless, of course, it's a pity to give 100-130 thousand for it. And those who write that it’s impossible for them to shoot in the dark - they simply didn’t hold it in their hands . Believe me, under equal conditions (say, in a dark theater hall or at a football match), in comparison with telephoto lenses with aperture ratio of 2.8, shooting 28-300 is flawed does not feel himself. And in many ways it even wins . Modern "carcasses" allow you to raise the ISO to the required short shutter speeds without loss of quality, and the excellent stabilization system 28-300 also helps.

Pros
  • Sharp at all focal lengths, quick in sports photography, "flatters" the person being portrayed when shooting a portrait, has a shallow depth of field regardless of the aperture value
Cons
  • Some say it's weight, but I don't think so. The lens is probably the most balanced in terms of weight of all that I have ever held in my hands.
