    Excellent product, the best quality.

Despite the fact that the lens has been produced for more than 10 years, to this day this model is in demand and relevant. For reporting, I mainly use the 7D crop. Of the features of my copy - out of the box, autofocus was a little smeared on an open aperture. It is corrected by a slight adjustment of the AF by the camera settings by minus 1-2 units. Regarding sharpness, you should not expect fixed-level shots from him, but the shots are quite decent. The center is always sharp, there is a…

    Pros
    • An indispensable all-rounder for reportage shooting. Reliable, proven over the years construction made of glass and metal. Excellent dual-mode stabilizer and tenacious autofocus.
    Cons
    • Low aperture, tendency to blur on an open aperture. To some, the size and weight may seem excessively large.

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

A couple of years ago, something broke inside and rolls around. It only affects the fact that there is no way to move the focal length below 35. If necessary, I just shake it and everything shifts. functionality is not impaired. Got pros: Durable, have been using for over 8 years. (9TB jeeps) Not a substitute for reporting. It's also convenient in the studio, you don't have to get up from your chair)) Has some cons: Heavy Due to inexperience, without tightening the ring, you can drop the lens…

A nice option for the money, one of the best deals.

For a full frame, for me, there is simply no better lens from kenon. On a crop at max FR, the photo is better than at 5Dm2. For whom the quality of images is above weight and money, I recommend it. Some pros: There are many excellent lenses, including mine, but it is the only one that satisfies me completely, it costs 5Dm2, its main advantage is color reproduction, it draws very softly, for sharpness portraits with a margin. Thanks to the high quality of images and a wide range of FR, it is…

I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

Not everyone can afford this glass, but it is worth the money. Words cannot describe how good this lens is. Personally, I didn't have anything better in my hands. I recommend to buy, you will not regret it. Its pros: The combination of focal length range and quality of this glass is incredible, you can only blame yourself for a missed frame. The pump allows you to switch from one event to another in a second, and autofocus works like lightning. I've only let it down a couple of times in my…

Full compliance with the manufacturer's assurances, high quality.

You have to put up with the size if you need the services offered by this lens, because the sniper does not complain that he has a too heavy and long rifle.)) The truth works here that the bigger the thing, the better it is. In tandem with 5M3, it forms a rather powerful system for fixing the surrounding reality. I am satisfied with the purchase. If someone came across an unsuccessful copy, no need for tantrums, go and change, otherwise one gave 1 point.))) You don’t have to wait for it to be…

    Pros
    • A versatile lens, indispensable in reportage work, when the scene changes at lightning speed, from a portrait to a general plan and back. Excellent sharpness in the center (70% of the frame gives pixel-by-pixel details) and good color reproduction (provided that this is a super zoom). Tenacious autofocus and a good stub. There are almost no technical marriages among the pictures. Well done.
    Cons
    • On the periphery (especially the corners at the short end) it gives a quite noticeable soap, I will make a reservation that this is about 10% of the entire frame area, it will do . Chromatitis, which, however, is also easily eliminated.

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not exactly the product I wanted, price and quality don't match.

I have been using it for over four years. A significant drawback is that when moving apart, it pumps air into / out of the chamber, the matrix has to be cleaned more often. Some complain about insufficient aperture, so this lens has "working" f / 8-13. They will not be able to shoot at dusk, for him only good sunny weather, or a tripod. Comfortable for travel, albeit bulky. Versatility and in addition an insignificant loss of quality, but not so critical as to say that this lens is much worse…

    Pros
    • The range of focal lengths. Medium telephoto lens, suitable for most shooting situations. Moderate dust and moisture protection
    Cons
    • The sliding lens design makes this lens a real dust blower. Over time, my seal fell apart (a narrow strip of microns thick made of some kind of technologically advanced non-woven material) on the retaining ring and the moving part ceased to be fixed, I had to give it to the service for a replacement. In terms of image sharpness and aperture, it does not significantly lose to lenses with a fixed focal length, but in order to achieve a good picture, you will have to practice with the settings. Vignetting is noticeable at long focus, however, it is easily removed by image processing programs. Chromatic aberrations at a short focus are much less than wide-angle EF 16-35, for example.

Great product, a pleasure to use.

Before that I used 28-135. I don't believe in prejudices like "aerial picture", but I can't help it - the picture of this model is really incomparably better than that of the younger ones. This applies specifically to the drawing, high sharpness, etc. go as a separate item, and here, too, everything is fine. At the maximum FR, phase focusing may not find focus if it is very confused - you need to turn on focus search in the camera focus settings after it is impossible to achieve it, then the…

    Pros
    • Build quality, image quality, pattern (see comment), stabilizer, speed, weather protection
    Cons
    • Weight, dimensions, AF switch too pliable - switches on foreign objects

I bought this lens with a Canon 1Dx Body in order not to carry a bunch of carcasses and glasses with me. Dimensions and weight adversely affect the efficiency of reportage shooting. Taking into account the fact that the Canon 1Dx Body iso 51000 is working, there are no complaints about the aperture ratio of the lens. For shooting indoor sports (ring, tatami, carpet), I still prefer the 70-200/2.8 USM L.

    Pros
    • Workmanship, quality and speed of work. FR range
    Cons
    • Strong distortion at 28 mm at full frame, but at 35 everything is fine. I don’t consider the dimensions and design to be a disadvantage - I’m used to the pump at 100-400 / 4.5-5.6 L. Considering that I use it with the Canon EOS 1Dx Body, the weight has become critical. It is still comfortable to work, but it is no longer comfortable to wear. Large, expensive, heavy. Use becomes more convenient if you use the handle, screw it to the lens.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Everything in the product suited me, the price is generally perfect.

By the way, in the L-series, not quite glass is used, but special plastic, according to its characteristics it is better and more expensive than glass. You can read about it on the manufacturer's website. The working "hole" 8-11, although it behaves very dignified in the open. There is a slight venetization, increasing with increasing FR. The rest - above all praise.

    Pros
    • focal length range. Contrast, sharpness across the field, color reproduction. Correct operation of the stabilizer in both modes. Fast focus. Excellent dust / moisture protection (filmed in the desert, in the rain)
    Cons
    • The "pump" with 300mm is a little tight, probably the main drawback of this model (I bought it for the 3rd time). I disagree with complaints about weight, a bunch of zooms covering this range of FR weigh the same, if not more . + the need for replacement.

Glass is used with 60D, hence many nuances. For travel and reporting, this is just chic, but it is better to shoot in good light. The working aperture is basically f / 8 - f / 13, everything is acceptable on these parameters. Despite the fact that I bought it (I took it second hand), I can’t recommend it for buying as an amateur, after all, it is too redundant for the average user and not everyone will be able to use its full potential.

    Pros
    • The quality of the flowers - having tried it once, I don’t want to change it for something. Sharpness is good, although not as much as everyone writes about it, admiring. Perhaps the reason is in the matrix and on the FF it will be exactly the "razor". Excellent FR range. I expected that a wide angle (28 * 1.6) would be missing, but as it turned out, 28 mm on the crop is quite working and I don’t feel much inconvenience. But at 300 this is an excellent telephoto, which allows you to get something that I had not seen before in principle. The stabilizer is very good, but not as good as everyone writes. Shooting at 300mm and 1/30 from the hands is a lottery, not working parameters, although, again, this is probably due to the crop.
    Cons
    • I overestimated sharpness. Weight - yes, it is big. It was like a day with him and his right hand began to ache. You can’t wear it around your neck with a regular strap either - 3kg on a rope cut your neck. I bought a strap with a neoprene pad, it became much more pleasant to wear. Appearance. There are pluses and minuses here. On the one hand, "girls like it" or, as someone has already written, "a camera with such a lens replaces the press card." On the other hand, even from passing cars they begin to turn around, it will not be possible to merge with the crowd, some guards also react aggressively, suspecting you of a blogger or journalist. Before that, I replaced the belt with the Canon inscription on the camera on a gray one, sealed all the nameplates on the camera and the inscriptions on the lenses, and now this miracle completely unmasks me. Autofocus. Perhaps a feature of my lens or just a bunch with a carcass, but sometimes it cannot focus in focus mode from 2,5m. You have to switch the mode or manually unscrew the focus so that it drives through the entire range. Horse price tag, absolutely inhumane for an amateur

I have had this lens for more than three years and still pleases! I worked mainly on crop and on crop it gives an excellent result. Sharpness, color reproduction are excellent, good landscapes are obtained. When traveling, it is indispensable and gives a very good picture, I take only it and the super-wide one. I am a girl, but the weight does not bother me, the photo requires sacrifice =) I had to shoot them in the rain, as a result - the fixing ring stopped functioning, because the material…

    Pros
    • Versatility + quality. With him, the townsfolk immediately fall into the category of "cool professional" =))) Suitable for Spartan filming conditions, because. the dust and moisture protective case is really such and is =)))
    Cons
    • Weight attracts attention

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality product, the price is commensurate with the quality.

I work with them at weddings, paired with 5D and 580EX. Good as a reportage lens. And the wide angle is quite enough, and the range is good. Very satisfied, almost everything can be removed from them. And a portrait, and a collective photo, and gets it from afar. By and large, it replaces 2 or even three simple lenses. I like its versatility and at the same time the quality of the picture. This is his main advantage.

    Pros
    • Versatile lens. 28-300 is enough for almost everything, and the aperture ratio is very good. Paired with a flash, you can shoot in full range. Different modes: autofocus switching 0.7 - unlimited. and from 2.5m to infinity. Two stabilizer modes. Protected from dust / moisture.
    Cons
    • Definitely weight. But what do you want, there is glass, not plastic. It's L.

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not perfect quality, there is a small defect.

This lens was developed 20 years ago. Then he was "elite" "super pro" for cameras 3-12 megapixels. This hour is a lens for lovers of all in one. If you have a camera of 20-100 megapixels, I highly recommend buying a second camera of the same type and lenses 24-70 and 70-200 f2.8 with a magnifier of 2x, 24 f1.4 and 85 f1.4. In addition, with two cameras you can try to shoot stereo photos "3d"

    Pros
    • Small lightweight (compared to 200-500 2.8) replaces a camera with a set of objects during the day and saves a lot of time
    Cons
    • He is dark! Preferably a working ISO 3200,000 and a camera with better autofocus. The image only becomes satisfactory at f8!

    Revainrating 1 out of 5

What did I pay for? The product is a complete failure.

I myself did not buy this lens and will not buy it after I really tried it. This is a nightmare . In terms of the range of focal lengths, this lens is very well suited for travel, I took one lens and that's it (I myself use a tamron 28-300 with a stub). But this is a theory. In practice, the lens is very heavy and overall, when fastened on the entire initial line of DSLRs, it looks ridiculous, and holding it in your hands is even funnier, the lens is three times heavier than the carcass (but…

    Pros
    • Covered a wide range of focal lengths. Dust and moisture protection. The stub works well.
    Cons
    • THE WEIGHT! Price, color . Aperture. Sometimes it focuses strangely (maybe this instance is like that .). In general, it seems that the mechanics work with some anguish (compared to 70-200 f4 is)

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality product, the price is commensurate with the quality.

I've been shooting 28-300 since 2022. Until 2022, I had 2 of these lenses. To be honest, I have not seen anything better, although I have been working as a photographer for over 20 years. For "vanilla girls" or "professional photographers" who shoot weddings, it probably won't do. It provokes close-ups, although it makes it possible to shoot from a focal length of 28mm! I would advise these people "fifty dollars 1.4" for 10 thousand, or even 1.8 - for 3 thousand. And cheap, and the picture is…

    Pros
    • Sharp at all focal lengths, quick in sports photography, "flatters" the person being portrayed when shooting a portrait, has a shallow depth of field regardless of the aperture value
    Cons
    • Some say it's weight, but I don't think so. The lens is probably the most balanced in terms of weight of all that I have ever held in my hands.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't expect the quality to be so high.

After reading reviews about this glass, I decided to rent it and form my own opinion about it. Took for a week. It's a pity to give =) Many attribute its weight to disadvantages. Me not. The weight of the lens combined with the stub gives a great result. It was possible to take excellent pictures with a shutter speed of 1/8 s. I got used to the lens almost immediately, yes, for the first 15-20 minutes I tried to twist it to change the FR. It lies comfortably in the hand, I reached all the…

    Pros
    • Zoom range, color reproduction, image stabilizer, weight
    Cons
    • From 250 mm to 300 mm, I sometimes smeared AF

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for the money, definitely recommended!

The best glass I've ever tried (Canon glasses, of course). The vertebra of the spine has shifted between the shoulder blades, I make up to 1000 frames per shooting day. I have been using it for the second year since the first review! TOTAL: "plows like a tractor", sharpness at wide angles is not so hot, still not fixed. I begin to understand a lot in the creative community of using this LENS model. Briefly "ABOUT HIM": cunning, cunning, demands that "ON YOU" be with him. The vertebra shifted…

    Pros
    • VERSATILITY, RINGING SHARPNESS, no HA. For me, it absolutely protects the matrix of the carcass from dust !
    Cons
    • People shirk at a wedding until they drink. Anniversaries fell into a stupor when they saw me for the first time at the anniversary, however, 70-200 is also a good "pugach"! Heavy at the end of a shooting day.

I bought this for my 7D about a year and a half ago and I love it! It's a little pricey and a little heavy BUT a great lens. Works great indoors and out. I can stand at one end of a basketball court and get good shots from either side. Doesn't look like there's a big market for it so not much resale (I'm trying to resell mine to pay off some of the debt) but I really like this lens and will review it later. And it would probably be even better on a full-frame camera.

    Pros
    • Price
    Cons
    • Non-automatic

Best all round lens for DSLR video

This lens is very versatile for action packed videography. I work at Jordan Winery [.] and spend a lot of time filming vineyard teams pruning and harvesting. There's a lot of movement here, and this lens helps me get a variety of shots quickly without changing lenses. This is the best all round lens Canon makes in my opinion. I studied them all, as did my husband, a professional photographer. Highly recommended. The only complaint I have is that the collar slips off quite often. So if you're…
