Gorilla makes excellent products

Since I'm getting sick of this lockdown pandemic, decided to recaulk the kitchen sink and do some other repairs. Removed everything to get it out of my way, cleaned everywhere the caulk would need to be and let it all dry. There aren't any instructions in the packaging anywhere so I just did what I thought I ought--cut the tip that comes with it in an angle and started caulking, using my fingers to even out the stuff to get a nice, smooth coverage all around the sink. Don't know if I should have but also caulked the non-moving base of the faucet which has a black rubber "gasket" that's been disintegrating for a while now (black stuff comes off each time I clean). I think the water from splashing in the sink has been leaking slowly under the sink lip down under to the counter. Left if for 24 hours since it doesn't say how long it takes to cure. It's been almost a week and seems to work perfectly, water is more easily wiped up and the seal seems to be good. It's just that the caulking, after 5 or more days, is still tacky to the touch. Don't know if that makes a difference, kind of have to watch powdery stuff like certain spices because they do stick and are a little difficult to get off the caulk. Otherwise, so far so good. I'm a nearly 70 y.o. very petite woman and was able to do this without any help, just took me a lot longer than someone more proficient at this sort of DIY since I always need to take backache breaks. If this caulk stays put and doesn't rub off with all the wipe downs we do every day, it should be good until I quit this joint.January 2021 update:Well, it was okay for 5 months, not a good record as far as I'm concerned. My kitchen is old with sink put in in 1985. Nothing fancy (did they have fancy back then?), just one stainless steel sink. The people downstairs said there were drips coming down infrequently--usually when my old faucet made a spray when I was trying to clean a big pot (thing doesn't fit under the faucet since it is not a gooseneck)--when I get finished rinsing the pot, I grab a sponge and wipe up the puddled water around the sink. Obviously, water is leaking down through the floors from this puddling. Gorilla has had a good rep so I buy this silicon clear caulk, do the cleaning and scraping so it will adhere as per the directions. It went on easily, I wore rubber gloves so I could smooth it all around the sink for a tight caulk, left it overnight to cure. For months it seemed to be doing just fine although it never lost it's stickiness. The kitchen is real small so I use even the 2" between the stove and the sink for prep work and often the vegetable or whatever would get a little stuck to the caulking. And, of course things get messy and have to be sponged up frequently and all the time. Somewhere in December before the holidays, I noticed some of the caulking peeling away, and more peeled each time I wiped that area dry with a sponge (nothing rough or scratchy) until large strips of the caulking were coming loose. I have more in the tube so I stripped and cleaned, AGAIN, and started all over. I am not pleased that I may have to do this every 5 or 6 months and I may revert back to a more usual waterproof caulking. Disappointed, was hoping to never have to do this again.
