They were perfect for my moose hunting trip in Colorado. They fit great, they were actually quite long and I had room for layers. They flex great and you have enough room for the ball to reach a tree with your foot without worrying about your crotch being yanked out. The knee pads felt uncomfortable at first, but once you have to crawl through cactus-dodging clumps of sagebrush you really start appreciating them. They also allowed me to be a little calmer. As for warmth, plan for layers, they block the wind and retain heat but don't insulate. The suspenders are also very comfortable.
