Description of SITKA Gear Timberline Optifade Subalpine

100% Polyester. Made in the USA or Imported. Belt closure. Hand Wash Only. CONCEALMENT - Subalpine is designed for stalking and ambushing ungulates from ground level in tree-covered and vegetated terrain, Open Country is optimized for engagement ranges of 50 yds and beyond at ground level in rocky terrain above the timber line. REINFORCED SEAT AND KNEES - The seat and knees are reinforced with a waterproof nylon ripstop fabric, so a long slog on a wet saddle or a quick seat in the snow won't leave you cold and wet. REMOVABLE KNEE PADS - Removable knee pads offer additional shield whether you're scrambling through talus in the Northern Rockies, picking your way through cactus in the Sonoran Desert, or field dressing an animal. ARTICULATED PATTERNING - The fit is athletic with tapered legs and a low-profile waist that won't bunch or chafe under a pack. DESIGNED FOR CHANGING CONDITIONS - This softshell pant is the go-to for those tough mid-to-late season conditions in the backcountry; it's constructed with ultra-durable 4-way stretch polyester which is both waterproof and breathable.

Great fit and quality

These pants are just the right thickness and style for my WY and CO (Spot and Stengel) hunts late September through November. I'm 6ft 3in, 220lbs and usually wear 36x34 pants. The 36T pants fit perfectly. Arrived in just a few days in the mail. I am very happy with my purchase.

  • Like everything before

Very comfortable and windproof

They were perfect for my moose hunting trip in Colorado. They fit great, they were actually quite long and I had room for layers. They flex great and you have enough room for the ball to reach a tree with your foot without worrying about your crotch being yanked out. The knee pads felt uncomfortable at first, but once you have to crawl through cactus-dodging clumps of sagebrush you really start appreciating them. They also allowed me to be a little calmer. As for warmth, plan for layers, they…

Love them for men

Only use them twice in turkey season at the moment. I really like her. They are very comfortable and I have used them one day in 40 degrees and rainy weather and the next in 75 degrees and sunshine. Very diverse. I love the buttons they put on the pockets, they don't make a sound. Really impressed because I've never seen buttons like this before, but they are awesome. They seem quiet, but I think I need to be up in my tree to really understand if they're quiet enough for me. I am very observant

Knee pads and seat material

The spring season 2019 in Turkey in Kentucky was much colder than previous seasons. My lightweight turkey hunting pants just weren't heavy enough to provide the much-needed insulation I needed. I chose these pants even though they didn't match the early Kentucky spring foliage. This turned out to be a good decision, especially when hunting turkeys. Built-in knee pads and a reinforced pant fit were essential for successful tracking. I found it much easier and more discreet to just kneel without…

Spend a little more but worth every penny spent

Need 36 regular instead of 35 I have been hunting for 50 years and getting the right pant in cold and wet weather has always been a problem. These are the best pants I've ever worn. Correct fit, no noise, no wet seat, no wind blowing through them.

Perfect for whitetail hunting

Used this season for whitetail hunting in the Midwest. The temperature ranged from 20F to 35F. I wear a 32 x 34 pant and bought the Timberline 34T pant and could still wear long johns and jeans underneath and still move comfortably in them. In all, he sat 4-5 hours a day and his legs stayed perfectly warm (fingers and toes are another story). Having suspenders was great for sitting as they kept my pants from riding down and exposing my back to the wind. Overall I would recommend these to anyone

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Almost never
