They provide superb light for working up close, moving snow, or walking around the barn and grainery in the dark. The red light allows me to see without blinding the animals (while reminding me of night ops in the military). My rating on the battery life may be harsh as I use these often, therefore change batteries often. They fit well on a bare head or over a variety of winter hats. Easy to turn on and off with gloved hands. They provide plenty of light to hook up farm implements, or to find animals that like to run away (I'm looking at you, kittens my wife wanted.)
