For the past eight years, I've been looking through this lens. And he never had any issues, not even in temperatures as low as -30 degrees, not even in the heat, not even in the rain, and not even in the muck. If you insist on finding fault, you won't be able to use a polarizing filter if the lens hood is already attached, and I'd prefer a wider aperture. But the marketers at Canon are steadfast in their stance, insisting that customers pick between a stabilizer and aperture when making their purchase. Hence, this is the most versatile lens that Canon has to offer, as it can be used for practically every situation.
