Review on πŸ₯œ Progressive Prepworks Nut Chopper with Non-Skid Base by Tammy Pochmara

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Significantly improved, especially for tough nuts

I previously gave a 2 star rating based on the previous round cross section model. I looked around for the best brand and found it hard to find. So I decided to try the current model and hope they fix their problems. I'm happy to report that the latest model, which this review is intended for, has actually made significant progress. Due to the limited initial use, I'm *very* happy with this new and improved model. *There are a few improvements I've noticed: the top holds up better, the two halves stick together better, the new shape is easier to hold on to, and the real chopper works better. * The previous model worked well with soft nuts (like walnuts) but in my opinion it didn't work well with hard nuts like almonds. The current model handles them. They require a bit of force, but it's workable and the device can handle it. I think part of the reason is that the chopper is better. I know part of the reason is that the handle is longer which allows for better leverage. The new shape allows for a stronger grip on the device, so the force required to grind the almonds does not cause the device to separate in the middle. This separation was one of the biggest disappointments; that doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. * Thanks to the new design, nuts are crushed more evenly. It helps that the cutting blades are slightly longer, closer to the length of the slots they go through. That means fewer chunks of nuts escaping the blades - it's always a hassle to cut through the last few pieces, but now it's smaller than before. There's still a mixture of nut chunks and nut powder, but it's chunkier now and the pieces are more even than before. * The top is now padded to keep it in place. Situations when the old lid comes off and, unfortunately, nuts are scattered are much less common. The new top just holds up better. Now let's hope that the first positive impression will last over time as I use it more.
