A friend's dryer broke. She paid a technician to come and fix it. (An expensive solution would be to replace the motherboard for around $250). After it wasn't fixed, a service call and parts (I don't know what he did) cost $250. I'm not an electrician but after 5 minutes of googling I found the problem. Then I watched a video on how to make repairs (safely). $10.99 per part and 20 minutes later the dryer was up and running. A month has passed and no problems.
