I have a couple of similar chucks/grips that I use with specially designed tools for odd little wood jobs. I bought this pin vise to try instead of General Tools #93 which otherwise seem to be fairly common. (Everyone I know in my hobby niche has a pair.) This one is cheaper, lighter, the handle is slightly larger (fits my hand better, YMMV), and the chuck itself is smaller, despite accommodating the same range of tool sizes. My bits (shaft 0.25″) move twice as far (1.5″) as possible in this compared to the GT93 (1.5″). I don't think it's good or bad; absolutely fine tool and I will probably use it in the future.
