The hinge wasn't fitted correctly from the factory, when the lid slid sideways it fell off and the plastic nuts securing the seat to the toilet weren't screwed on. Also, the plastic washers that center the screws in the toilet holes and buffer the metal hardware between the bracket and the harness were absolutely not included. Install it on this seat. Toss the hinge kit that came with the kit straight into the trash can. It was a real headache! If I hadn't waited a week for it to show up and was in dire need of a bathroom makeover I would have returned it. The seat itself feels solid, although the finish is matte and inconsistent were it not for the fact that the seat and lid definitely seem to have gone backwards. Only time can tell. Spend your money elsewhere because this thing is going to cost you even more if you can get it to work. Terrible!
