Bad factory but good customer service at Max Warehouse

Ordered one because it was solid wood not veneer and the brass fittings looked sturdier than the chrome on my old toilet seat which was coming off. The seat arrived with the cover broken in half and still shrink wrapped. I contacted Max Warehouse the seller and they sent me a replacement. install it Worked great until a week later one of the plastic bumpers fell out because the idiots at the factory just applied pressure and didn't use glue. I'm smart enough to take some wood glue and glue itโ€ฆ

Crooked and rough Best in Toilet Seats

As a preface I have to say that this is the first negative review I have ever left. This toilet seat is decently done in terms of the woodwork. But be warned: if you're hoping to match it with other woodwork, this is a "honey oak" color, but it's not oak. Metal fittings are more of a concern. Roughly shaped, they are so poorly formed that the seat sits noticeably askew on the bowl, overlapping one side and leaving a noticeable bulge on the other. I could live with it, but it drives my wifeโ€ฆ

This is not a toilet seat. Fishes.

Because it is very elegant, easy to install, not flimsy and at a good price. If I can install it, so can you. I'm officially blind, but I haven't had any problems. Here's a tip: use a nail first. I used a nail to make a hole in which I put a small plastic plug. Back then, screwing in the screw (with a cordless screwdriver) was child's play. I have a 6 year old granddaughter who uses toilet paper to dry her hands when a towel isn't handy so I'm putting that at a level she can reach. Perfectโ€ฆ

Not worth the box it came in!

The hinge wasn't fitted correctly from the factory, when the lid slid sideways it fell off and the plastic nuts securing the seat to the toilet weren't screwed on. Also, the plastic washers that center the screws in the toilet holes and buffer the metal hardware between the bracket and the harness were absolutely not included. Install it on this seat. Toss the hinge kit that came with the kit straight into the trash can. It was a real headache! If I hadn't waited a week for it to show up andโ€ฆ

  • something different

Update my review below. After just a few months, the seat broke at the point where the individual pieces of wood were joined (see photo). Note from the photos that the support pads on the underside of the seat are on either side of the joint, making it a weak point. They should take it off the market until they fix it. ________________________________________________ The box says "Solid Oak" but the description says "Honey Oak FINISH". Other reviewers said it's not oak, so who knows? Brassโ€ฆ

Good quality seat, not so good hardware

Seat quality - Very good, well constructed and nicely finished. Made from real solid oak, NO VENEER! The quality of the hinges is satisfactory, although the mounting hinges are relatively light. The quality of the bolt/nut is junk, it failed immediately. Anyone who has ever changed the toilet seat (and who has not?) knows that the anchor bolts corrode after several years of cleaning. When both bolts and nuts are nylon, corrosion is minimal and the nuts can be easily removed. If the screws areโ€ฆ
