CD slot works great

Love this mount! I just received an iPhone 12 Pro and couldn't find the right mount/charger. Finding out that I can use an Apple charger was great. It fits the holder snugly and tightly and you don't have to worry about it popping out when you take off your phone. I totally thought it would happen, but after extensive use, I'm happy to report that it doesn't. I haven't used the adhesive mount so I can't comment on that.
