Clear cutting and special tools are required.
I bought this due to the "easy installation" and the fact that installation required no modifications to the vehicle. I should have read the other reviews not the wrong description. You will need to cut your existing car rails to fit. A cutting tool is required and it is recommended that you take it to the dealer for installation. It can be good if you know what you are getting yourself into when making a purchase. I didn't have the tools or time for this so I had to send them back so I can't comment on their usability. They looked good and felt durable.
