I bought them to safely handle some of them.
I bought these to safely handle about 500 degrees Fahrenheit metal parts that I put in the oven. I've used some of those rubber-coated gardening gloves you can buy at the hardware store, but they burned my hands. Although these gloves are about the same thickness as gardening gloves, they block ALL heat from the metal parts I'm working with. They also have grip points so they hold metal well. I have enough dexterity when using them. I am very impressed with how well these gloves work.
