Working - Audio & Video Accessories

This is a very simple product that solves a very specific problem. That means extending the range of a VGA monitor beyond 6-10 feet, or so that you can come up with a regular VGA cable. I've always solved this problem by using utilities like VNC to remotely control servers and workstations. However, there are some hardware components that you cannot install VNC on. That's where this particular product comes in. As I mentioned before, this is a fairly simple device which means it's very easy to install. I started with a 50 foot CAT6 cable that went to a server in the next room. In fact, you don't really need to do anything special when setting it up, so it's pretty quick to set up. A neat feature of this device is that unlike VNC, this gadget doesn't use the resources of the computer you're connecting to. No need to install software, troubleshoot configuration issues, or remember passwords. Just plug in and get started. The downside of this solution is the fact that while you can easily redirect videos from a remote server to another location, you can't do anything but passively watch what's happening. There are no ports for a mouse or keyboard, meaning you'll eventually need physical access to the device if you want to do something other than just watch what's going on. I haven't had any problems with this device since I first used it. The device makes a very solid impression in terms of its construction. Obviously you cannot use this product to stream 4K video through this device. This is a great solution for sysadmins who just need to keep an eye on what their servers are doing without spending all day in the server room.
