Makes installation a lot easier!

Does what it should and does it well. We had to run a third monitor from our church computer that displays PowerPoint, with the first two monitors being the large projector behind the pastor and our monitor in the media booth. We wanted to put a big screen on the wall behind the meeting so I installed an NVidia card which actually supports 4 monitors and now we just had to play videos on the new big screen. We had wall power and all we had to do was run a Cat6 cable from the sound booth to the…

Ok but newer technology is better

I got this a while ago but already switched to another method (HDMI). However, this is a good product depending on your needs. BENEFITS Simple design so easy to connect Controls audio and video Audio adjustment screws for gain and peak Being Cat5 compliant means it can travel precise (and long) distances VS Mounting brackets are included for the transmitter but not the receiver (so it must be for hanging or hiding). Like VGA, it is deprecated (not designed for the future); and slower than HDMI…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Will do

Great for setting up a remote monitor

In video production I sometimes need a monitor to use my talent. With this device you can use any monitor with VGA input or output. The nice thing is that you can use a regular CAT5 or CAT6 cable to connect them. It's unlikely I'll ever need to test the claimed 950ft range, but I can say it works great out to 50ft, the longest cable I have on hand. Operation couldn't be easier. You take the VGA audio and video output from a device and feed it to the transmitter box. Connect the receiver end to…

Cons
  • High price

I hate being the only person who can't do this job. I only uploaded the instruction manual as an extra measure to make sure everything is connected properly before plugging in the AC adapters. I bought a 100 foot high end Cat 6 ethernet cable and connected the transmitter and receiver to my new 55" Dell HD boardroom monitor, which works great when connected directly to my laptop with a VGA cable . However, I see nothing. through this transceiver system, except that the cursor moves briefly…

Working - Audio & Video Accessories

This is a very simple product that solves a very specific problem. That means extending the range of a VGA monitor beyond 6-10 feet, or so that you can come up with a regular VGA cable. I've always solved this problem by using utilities like VNC to remotely control servers and workstations. However, there are some hardware components that you cannot install VNC on. That's where this particular product comes in. As I mentioned before, this is a fairly simple device which means it's very easy to…

Great for long distance video/audio transmission

I have a recording studio at home. I have a monitor that I use for mixing and editing. But when I'm recording drum tracks I need a monitor nearby so I can see what and where I'm recording. Before this product I had to extend my monitor's extension arm to at least see as much as possible, tempo and time and controls when I'm hitting a record. But with this little gem, I can freely remove my monitor from my PC. It's awesome. If I want to mix/edit something, I just put the monitor back on the…
