Type of review

I thought this would be a comparable battery to the Greenworks original one. I bought it as a spare so I can use it while the other one is charging but I was very disappointed after the first 3 or for uses. It loses the charge very quickly (in 10 minutes or less).5/16/2019I am revisiting this review. The company reached out to me and offered to replace the defective battery with a new one and I commend them for the excellent customer support. The new battery works perfectly.

Pros
  • The battery is difficult to remove from tool.
Cons
  • The battery takes forever to charge and it doesn’t last too long

Good battery - my new review

I bought this battery mainly just to finish what I start. The battery that came with the unit is twice as big. When it runs out of juice and, it does often. Then I have this one to finish the job. Some of my jobs takes both to complete. What I like about battery powered tools is no more mixing gas. The GreenWorks tools are quiet compared to gas powered blowers and such. Electrics sounds like a vacuum cleaner. No need for sound protection.

Pros
  • Great trimmer for my roses! It has saved me a lot of time and scratches! Very happy with purchase.
Cons
  • Only holds about 15 minutes of cutting time, so be quick or have a small lawn.

If battery performance doesn't improve Revain will get it back

Lasts about 5 minutes on 40v greenworks blower. Original battery still goes 25 minutes and it is 3 years old. After posting original review I noticed the Energup battery seemed lighter than the greenworks g-max. Sure nuff.Energup battery supposedly 2.5 ah weighs 775 grams vs greenworks 2.0 ah at 820 grams. Apparently Energup is using 'lighter' lithium.

Pros
  • Battery only lasted 2 monthsBut Energup quickly replaced it for me
Cons
  • Not horrible but not great.

Battery does not work

I have ordered a free replacement and I will update this review if the new one works. However, this original will not run my lawnmower (I've double checked compatibility) for more than 4 or 5 seconds and the mower will shut off.My original greenworks battery works great. This money saving knockoff, not so much.Update ***New battery does the exact same thing as the old one. Starts for 3-5 seconds and turns off. I even posted a video for everyone else to see. Please don't purchase. Would give 0…

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • A lot shorter run time

Good replacement battery

So far, so good. Charged the battery the first time and this battery appears to last longer than the original. Time will tell with future charges.

Pros
  • Good value for the money. Does not last as long as original but I bought as a second battery.
Cons
  • Battery may not hold up over time with heavy use

Does not charge: my feedback

I purchased a backup battery (Energup 40V 2500mAh Replacement Lithium.) for my Greenworks leaf blower. The backup battery worked for a very short time after which it never charged. It is not a Greenwork battery, my fault for not paying attention but it is suppose to be a replacement battery. Since my purchased was in February I never had a chance to check it out since it was winter, When summer came and I used it the replacement battery it worked for for a short time after which it would not…

Pros
  • It works fine, but I think its a bit pricey.
Cons
  • Battery may not last as long as the original Greenworks battery

Hurricane Sally Cleanup & a Dead Battery

The battery did not hold a charge for more than ten minutes. Five months later it's dead. I figure that's about $4.00 per use since it was used ten times at most. Maybe that's the product life. I sure hope not because all the yard tools I have run on the same batteries. The yard tools have served well. I have a tiny garden so there's not a big demand and something even a 75 year old woman can handle. However this week there is the challenge of Hurricane Sally cleanup here in Pensacola. I really

Pros
  • worth it for a comparatively inexpensive backup
Cons
  • Some users report reduced battery life compared to other replacement options

Batteries Don’t Last Long Enough

Like I have stated, I like my battery lawnmower. However, I have purchased 4 batteries just to get through my entire yard and I will have to purchase probably one more. I have more invested in batteries than my lawnmower

Pros
  • Works, charges and lasts.
Cons
  • May not work well in extreme temperatures (very cold or very hot

This battery will not recharge. It's just over a month old and I just used it for the first time. It is now dead and will not recharge. The charger just keeps trying but no luck no matter how long I leave it on the charger. Very disappointing.

Pros
  • Works just as good as an original
Cons
  • Does not come with a warranty

Charging life does not last.

I bought two batteries to have as backups. They worked fine at first now they only last 30min. Not worth the money. Not as durable as the original Greenworks battery.

Pros
  • The product is fine. A little pricy
Cons
  • Not as durable as the original Greenworks battery

Works with Greenworks 21 " mower MO40L01

It wasn't 100% clear that this would work for my mower MO40L01 but the description said it worked with the charger that came with it so I ordered. The battery is a little thicker than the original but it fits and works fine. I've only used once so longevity is unknown but the battery lasted for the whole lawn (maybe 20 minutes) and was only 50% discharged. I have been unable to finish the lawn lately using both the original batteries which have lost most of their charging capacity.

Pros
  • Durable and long-lasting construction for reliable use over time
Cons
  • Some users report that the battery takes longer to charge after several uses

Great back up battery

I purchased this as a back up and found it as a significant amount of charge to it. Sometimes this battery will be the only one I need.

Pros
  • BAttery stays strong for about 20-30 Minutes on my string trimmer
Cons
  • May not work with all Greenworks G-MAX models

It's not that great, but it's okay

I own a 40V mower and recently purchased three batteries: (1) for $115 a Greenworks brand replacement for the factory-included battery, (2) for $70 a Lasica brand designed for the Greenworks line, and (3) this battery, Energup brand, for $45.The Greenworks and Lasica batteries perform at least as well as my year-old factory-included battery. This Energup battery, however, only powers the mower for roughly half as long. Since it costs less then half what the Greenworks costs, but more than half…

Pros
  • Lawnmower works very well.
Cons
  • Some customers report that the battery does not charge fully

Only lasted one summer

Battery only lasted one summer. Had the battery in storage over the winter and when I put the battery on the charger in the spring, it was dead. The original battery (Greenworks) was stored in the same place over the winter and it charged right up in the spring. I didn't save any $$ going with an off brand.

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • Some customers report that the battery stopped working after only a few uses

Worked great for a while!

Bought this battery for my wife’s blower and did well for about 12 uses then after charging, put in blower and blower kept cutting off after about 5 seconds. Put the battery in my GW chainsaw and it did the same thing. Tried the usb connection and wouldn’t charge the phone. Second one of these I’ve had to go bad.

Pros
  • Product as described!
Cons
  • Can take longer to recharge than the original battery

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not great, but a good price

It came quickly. So far, I have used it only once on y Greenworks, cordless, self propelled 21" mower. I was disappointed that the runtime was only one hour. The owner's manual for the mower says it will run for 2-21/2 hours. It cost $62 - the battery from Greenworks would have been around $100.

Pros
  • Voltage: 40V, Capacity: 3000mAh, Battery Type: Li-ion, High quality cell.
Cons
  • May not be as environmentally friendly as other power tool battery options

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Dead after the 3rd charge. Won't even charge anymore.

ZER0 STARS! Completely dead after the 3rd charge! Wont charge and is completely gone. I've only had it for 1 month and I can't even return it. Complete waste of money! Stay away from the off brand batteries!

Pros
  • Fits snugly on Greenworks tools and doesn't shake, rattle, or come loose during use
Cons
  • Some customers report that the battery’s lifespan is shorter than they expected

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great seller, stands behind product.

Fits and works like original equipment. Seller/manufacturer stands behind product. They replaced a defective battery no questions asked. I would not hesitate to buy this product again.

Pros
  • Allows users to take on demanding tasks with ease and confidence
Cons
  • May not hold up as well to frequent recharging as other replacement options

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Lighter weight and longer lasting charge

The original battery had a couple of cells go bad. The way the cells are packaged made replacing individual cells very difficult. Checked Revain and new version is priced right. It is also noticeably lighter while providing 500maH greater capacity. Win-win-win.

Pros
  • I have a pole saw and string trimmer that use the same battery so it made sense to buy another battery.
Cons
  • Customers report difficulty installing the battery into certain power tools
