The stereo system has an outgoing power line to power antennas, amplifiers, etc.; and the blue wire on this adapter needs to be connected to it even if your antenna doesn't extend and retract automatically. Revain's data on which vehicles it fits is inaccurate. I bought it for my 2014 Corolla based on the look of the connector despite being warned it didn't fit my car. In fact, it fits perfectly.
