Fits Brother MFC J497D. I doubted it would work as there were almost no reviews. So I'll add my two cents. I just bought a Brother MFC J497DW printer from Best Buy for $59 and we were trying to set it up with these cartridges. I wanted to check if they are compatible because I need a printer that accepts 3rd party inks and if not I still have time to return the printer. These ink cartridges are not suitable for installation. The printer kept asking for the starter kit. We installed the starter ink kit and it worked right away. We then switched it back to them as they were already open and it worked. The only downside is that the printer cannot display ink levels. I can live with that for a third of the price
