Once you take apart the original key fob, which actually destroys it, you need to replace it. The circuit board on our 2011 Soul key fob didn't quite match the new fob - the dowel pins didn't match the notches on the circuit board. However, you can carefully cut the pins with an Xacto knife and install the board. After the modification, the key fob works perfectly and the key pulls in very well. The replacement key fob is secured with a screw which, once fitted, hides under the attached Kia badge. Would give it 4 stars except that there were no instructions and modifications were required to make the board fit.
