🔑 Protective Key Fob Cover Case for 2010-2014 Kia Soul Sportage Keyless Entry Remote Review

This FOB looks like a Kia Soul FOB but doesn't fit. An empty key is not even close. When I removed the pin and replaced the old key with a blank one, they were of different widths so they couldn't be swapped out. The button from it doesn't fit in the hole of the old key. THIS IS NOT A MATCH.

My old keychain buttons kept falling off one by one. I was able to disassemble my old key fob and fit the "innards" and key into the body of the new key fob. Two things to note: The old keychain was difficult to take apart. It would have been easier if it was designed as a replacement, but there was no screw. The second thing to note is that the key didn't look like it was the same style as my key. I changed the keys and everything was fine.

The metal loop on the existing keys is broken, I bought it to replace the normal key fob case. We were able to use the old key, just file the flat end of the key to match the pin on the new hinge. This keychain appears to be of good quality and was fairly easy to put together using a few YouTube videos. Works just as well as a stock key fob, even with a small Kia sticker! Happy with my purchase, much better than going to the dealer!

The folding button module did not come with any instructions. Like other reviewers, I found the video on You Tube. While the OEM keychain doesn't have a screw holding both halves of the clamshell together, this replacement key does. The circuit board that needs to be moved from the original key fob to this replacement does not quite fit the replacement key fob like the original. Once you take apart the original key fob, which actually destroys it, you need to replace it. The circuit board on our 2011 Soul key fob didn't quite match the new fob - the dowel pins didn't match the notches on the circuit board. Key case opens partially - if this happens while driving it's almost impossible to remove the key from the ignition which is a little disconcerting it falls apart completely. Unfortunately this replacement key fob shell will not fit my 2013 Kia Soul. The problem is, as another reviewer pointed out, if you remove the small circuit board from the original key fob, you've already ruined that original key fob, as it will crack/break during the process. Only then can you test the installation and see if the key fob replacement shell will fit or not, and if not (like in my case) your best bet is to try swapping out the circuit board to make it fit.
