Review on 🚿 Ecosmart POU 3.5 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 3.5KW@120-Volt, Compact Size 7” x 11” x 3” by Jeremy Gulledge

First heater was DOA - made a little worse as there is no way to test it until it is installed. Revain solved my problem by immediately sending a new block that worked like a champion. Although it comes with a flow reducer (0.5 gpm), I have not installed it. Didn't need it. Live in Virginia where the average inlet water temperature is about 60*F. This thing heats up enough to make hand washing convenient. I'm sure it won't work in the shower, but it's waiting for the deep garage sink and closet. Excellent purchase. Wiring and connections appear to be of very high quality. Nice assembly template and instructions. Definitely recommend to friends and family. Update: There is a 'feature' in this device that is poorly documented and (after the DOA replacement) caused initial sadness. It turns out that there is a tiny impeller in the input sleeve/conduit inside the unit that needs to move freely up and down the shaft. The purpose of this is to operate the relay to turn the heater on/off. Impeller Up - Water flows and pushes it up the shaft to make contact. Impeller down - lack of water flow prevents the heating from switching on. Nowhere in the documentation is this described or mentioned. No big deal, right? Not correct. If debris gets into this inlet (e.g. PVC dust or glue or debris from the original piping) the impeller will most likely not move up and down freely. This happened to me and in my case the heater never turned on. After calling the company for about 10 minutes, I realized I would have to completely disassemble the unit (it was installed by a plumber and didn't use compression fittings, so everything had to be cut and reinstalled) to clean the impeller. It's a good idea to drain the water and rinse everything before plugging it into the unit. Too bad I didn't know this design before installing it. This does not change my product impression or rating, but something that could have been mentioned in the installation instructions.
