My computer is currently my main place for listening to music. I have a bunch of really good studio monitors and all my music files are lossless. I come from the hi-fi world and was a partner in a recording studio. The quality of the music is important to me. I bought this because my PC's internal audio was loud and I thought the external unit was isolated from the EM hell that is the inside of the PC. Plugged in with no problems and mostly working. But on its own it generated quite a bit of noise, mostly transient white noise on top of the main noise. In fact, it was even worse than the internal sound. Biting the bullet, I bought a PreSonus external interface designed primarily for sound recording. It cost €100 but works perfectly. It's quiet and has a high-quality DAC that plays my lossless music files perfectly. When sound quality matters, these cheap interfaces should be avoided.
