paper filters/funnels work well too. No complaints, they do their job and that's a good thing. The silicone holder funnel was one of the reasons I bought this item. I needed something to hold the paper filters. From the description, they go well together. They don't. The angle of the silicone funnel is much steeper than that of the paper cone, making it awkward to hold and, in my case, requires thorough cleaning after each use to prevent contamination of the material already filtered through the paper cone. I don't feel comfortable loading the paper filter funnel and waiting for it to filter because now there's a chance the silicone funnel could collapse and splatter all over the place. So basically, either find another use for the silicone funnel or be prepared to babysit and clean it. it is after. But paper funnels work just as well as you would expect. I just wish they fit more like a pad than two products thrown together and not really tested.
