Most new thin laptops don't have a DVD drive or even a LAN connection ex works. This adapter works great. I wish it had a color picker so I can match it to the computer, but it doesn't matter. You simply connect the LAN line and then plug the USB connector into your computer, done. Sometimes I have to unplug mine and plug it back in to connect to the internet, but I don't think it has anything to do with the adapter, just a sync issue because it always works. All it really needs is a thicker, more durable cable between the adapter and the USB port. If you're not careful I can spot a broken wire problem in the cable between the adapter and the USB port. Otherwise, it's a great device and has never let me down.
