I searched for ADT, Broadview/Brink, Protect America before purchasing this product. People would come to my house and tell me what they could and couldn't do, how much they would charge me and all that. When they came out, they all seemed to tell me the same thing. "We need to install a wireless system and since you have vonage your control box needs to be in the room with your vonage box or you need to get cellular which is $300 and $10 a month. I wanted a wired and not a box in my office. So I went with wireless but decided to do it myself which was the best decision I could have made. I installed this whole set with no problems. I even ordered three extra door/window sensors for my other doors and another motion sensor and installed it in my garage for monitoring. I also added an alarm sensor which I placed next to the smoke detector upstairs for the kids in case of fire it will beep and start the dialer. I put a panic remote control by my front door as a panic button in case someone tries to break in. everything worked perfectly when i set it to ring, everything rang back when i wah. If it's set to an alarm, the alarm will ring on demand, the dialer will ring my parents and our cell phones, so it's great to have a free monitor instead of spending $30-50 a month on it. Overall this is one of the best purchases I've made for my home and I feel really confident about it. All you have to do is follow the instructions carefully to add new hardware and edit your armed features to make them do what you want. For example, when I arm my house, I don't want the garage sensor to sound an alarm, so I place it in another area where it just rings. It is truly universal if you read it carefully. I also bought the ADT sign and some stickers off ebay and stuck them on my doors/windows and in the yard. I guarantee if a burglar sees them and breaks in and the alarm goes off, they won't know the difference.
