I seldom write reviews but this time I really thought it might help others out there who had the same issues I had when choosing a new tablet. For more years than I can count (ugh.so.,old.so.very old) I have been solidly in the Wacom camp when it came to graphic drawing tablets. I have spent LOADS of money to make sure I had the best tablet my money could buy but recently Wacom seems to have lost their freakin minds. They went the route of the "One driver to rule them all!" philosophy and my Intuos 4 went to hell in a hand basket. I couldn't get the fine detail or control because I could no longer calibrate the pen. It would freeze up in mid stroke and I would have a portrait that resembled a failed attempt at a Picaso made during the act of removing the ear. Sometimes the ear would end up attached to someone's forehead. Basically, it sucked huge monkey pogo so I went on the search to get a new tablet. Unfortunately, I am the typical starving artist so this time around I couldn't dump truckloads of cash into a new Wacom. I was forced to find an alternative and after much (and very painful) hemming and hawing over every tablet on the market that didn't sport the Wacom logo, I settled on the Huion Giano Wireless Graphic Drawing Tablet. (play harps and angels singing music here)I love this Tablet. It has grace and a delicate feel. My lines are so fine that my hair (which is also fine) gets jealous. My hand glides over it's surface like Michael Phelps in water and the shortcut buttons are designed perfectly so that I don't accidentally cut and paste an ear onto a forehead. My only complaint, and really it can't even be considered a complaint because it was my own stupidity, was that the instructions kept telling me to insert the wireless receiver into my computer and because I was so mesmerized by the tablet's design, I couldn't figure out that the receiver was in a tiny little holder on the back of the tablet. Once I found out that this problem was really between the seat and the keyboard, I was off and running. I never had an issue installing the drivers but I did follow the instructions of another reviewer and completely removed my Wacom drivers then rebooted before attempting to install my new Huion.For the price, this little beauty had everything you could ever want and the drawing surface is massive. It's rectangle shape is much better ergonomically then the huge brick square of real estate that my Intuos 4 occupied. The keys are easy to program and can handle any shortcut you can throw at them. They even thought to put a 90 degree power cord so you don't have to fight with it if you need to charge your tablet and draw at the same time! INGENIOUS! I would recommend this to anyone in the Wacom death spiral. Throw out that gigantic brick and get one of these beauties. You're wallet and your artwork will thank you.
