This is the perfect bag for the beach or other water activities. As advertised, the bottom is mesh, which allows sand to flow out instead of pooling at the bottom of the bag. Another benefit of a mesh floor is that it allows air to circulate. So if you put something still a little damp in your bag, it has a better chance of drying out and not getting that musty smell. For this reason, I also find this bag good for water activities without sand, such as going to the pool. Overall, the material and workmanship are good. I've only recently had this bag but judging by the quality I expect it will last for many years. The capacity is good. It's big but manageable. I really like that it also has backpack straps so you have the option of carrying it on your back as well as with traditional straps. It definitely helps to have your hands free to carry other items and/or hold your kids when walking from the parking lot to the beach/pool.
